Welcome to the 151st Session of the Liverpool Geological Society (LGS).

 
We begin 2010 with The 150th Anniversary of the First Meeting of the LGS on 10th January
  1860
which is to be celebrated by a Special Lunch at Heathcotes Restaurant, Beetham Plaza off
  Brunswick Street, Liverpool, L2 0XL at 12:00 Noon.

Distinguished Visitor's Address entitled 'Dinosaurs - New Views on Old Bones' by our Guest

  13 Mar - Practical & Field Meeting - National Science Week Event.
  16 Mar - Distinguished Visitor's Address by Lynn Frostick on 'Rivers, Floods and Climate Change'.
  16-23 Apr - 150th Anniversary Field Meeting to NW Scotland with Joe Crossley & Hazel Clark.
  23 Jul - The Iceland Reunion Trip to Iceland with Chris Hunt.

     We offer a varied programme of illustrated talks, practical sessions, and field trips.

Dr Paul Barrett
is an honorary member of the Evans lab but is otherwise based at the Natural History Museum where he is a researcher of dinosaurs and other fossil reptiles.
Paul has published numerous publications (too many to list here) which you can find listed on the Natural
History Museum
(NHM) website.
       Paul's major research interests are centred on the evolutionary palaeobiology of dinosaurs and other extinct amniotes. In addition, Paul is involved in projects to investigate macroevolutionary mechanisms and the evolution of Mesozoic terrestrial ecosystems.
